Brits should take the time to shop around for the best deal on car breakdown insurance - as they could be missing out on a bargain, according to one leading industry figure.
Tesco head of insurance Allan Burns says that UK motorists could find easily find a policy that matches their needs more succinctly than their present one - and end up paying much less at the same time.
"Many motorists don't realise that the car breakdown cover is a highly competitive market," Mr Burns claims, adding that he thinks drivers should "look further than the traditional players whose comparable cover can be almost double the price" of more recent entrants.
"They should look for the best combination of quality and cost in the same way they do from their car insurance provider," the insurance head asserts.
A recent survey from Auto Trader revealed that the vast majority of UK motorists consider cost as the decisive factor when choosing which car insurance policy to purchase.
