A 12-year-old boy has been arrested by police following an incident at a Cornwall school which left another pupil needing hospital treatment.

Devon and Cornwall police said that a 13-year-old boy suffered serious injuries after the incident which took place at 13:00 BST yesterday at Bodmin Community College.

He was taken to Treliske hospital and then transferred by air ambulance to Frenchay hospital in Bristol.

"The injured lad is currently in a stable condition," a statement from Devon and Cornwall police said.

The 12-year-old pupil involved has been arrested and interviewed, the statement added. He has been released on police bail to return to Launceston police station on Monday July 2nd.
