The man who heckled home secretary John Reid at a community conference last year is among six men due in court on terror charges today.

Abu Izzadeen, 32, also known as Omar or Trevor Brooks, from east London, has been charged under the Terrorism Act 200.

He, along with Shal Jalal Hussein, 24, of east London; Omar Zaheer, 27, of west London; Simon Keeler, 35, of east London; Ibrahim Abdullah Hassan, 21, of east London; and Rajib Khan, 28, of Luton, has been charged with raising funds for terrorism purposes.

Abu Izzadeen, Mr Keeler, Mr Hassan and Mr Khan have also been charged with inciting terrorism overseas.

Mr Hassan faces an additional charge of possessing articles related to terrorism.

All six are due before City of Westminster magistrates court today, Scotland Yard said, having been arrested on April 24th.

Born Trevor Brooks in north London, Abu Izzadeen converted to Islam and changed his name in 1994.

He came to prominence when he was seen loudly criticising Mr Reid at a press conference in east London last September. There is no suggestion any offence was committed at that time.
