EasyJet has become the 1,000th organisation to request EDF Energy's guidelines on reducing carbon emissions, according to energy-online.net.
The energy company's Energy Efficiency Toolkit was introduced to businesses as a way they can make specific changes to improve the carbon footprint of their workplaces and also reduce their energy bills.
EasyJet has already reduced its aircrafts' emissions by 18 per cent per passenger, but is now looking to continue its reduction process in other aspects of its business.
Commenting on the airline's decision, easyJet spokesman Huw Thomas said: "Our low-cost business model means that easyJet is committed to efficiency in all areas.
"EDF Energy's Toolkit will enable us to reduce out electricity, lighting, heating and cooling consumption, and thus complement the fuel efficiency achieved by our flights."
The news comes after EDF Energy revealed its "Climate Commitments" plans in June to reduce its own business's carbon emissions by 60 per cent by 2020.
