Barclaycard has launched a new credit card which can be used to claim cheap fares on the London transport network.

The Barclaycard OnePulse credit card is the first third-party product to feature technology for use on the Oyster transport system, meaning owners can use it to travel around the capital.

The card's OneTouch payment facility will also allow customers to make purchases of £10 or under without entering a Pin at stores including Books Etc and Coffee Republic.

On the launch of the new card, Barclaycard chief executive said: "I am very excited to launch Barclaycard OnePulse and welcome Londoners to the future of payments in the capital. This card will make life easier and more hassle-free for those who live and work in and around London."

Around 4,000 people registered their interest in the card when plans for it were first unveiled in July.

The launch of the card featuring OneTouch technology comes around a week after Mastercard launched its similar PayPass system in London. The technology is already used in 19 countries including the US.
