Investors are increasingly looking to pour money into projects and companies with strong ethical and green credentials, one expert has claimed.
Adam Ognall, deputy chief executive of UKSIF, says that such investment opportunities still represent a proportionally small segment of the market - but they are increasing in number as awareness of ethical and green issues continues to grow.
"All the market trends show that people are wanting to invest more ethically," Mr Ognall commented.
"There have been a lot of very well performing ethical investments," he added.
"So these trends are increasing the rise of the green and ethical consumer across lots of different areas. People are increasingly adding ethical investment in to the mix of investments they have."
A recent report from the Norwich Union revealed that 56 per cent of Brits consider unethical living to be as much of a social taboo as drink-driving.
