Advice provider Business Link has launched a new initiative to encourage companies to become more environmentally-friendly.
The new scheme, called the Environment and Efficiency Theme, has been created to show businesses how they can benefit from implementing green strategies in the workplace.
It is also hoped that the new initiative will help companies reduce their waste, embrace sustainable innovations and promote the importance of adhering to legal regulations on climate change.
Commenting on the new scheme, Teri McSherry, head of content at Business Link, said: "Our new Environment and Efficiency Theme is designed to help businesses positively embrace becoming eco-friendly and realising the benefits of being a green business.
"The theme covers a wide range of green issues with practical advice and tools to help understand and implement each."
Business Link, which is primarily funded by the Department of Trade and Industry, has been set up to promote enterprise across the UK.
The organisation was also set up to promote Britain as one of the best places in the world to start a new business.
