E.ON has launched a new "green" energy tariff for its business customers which supplies electricity solely generated from renewable sources.

Launched in partnership with environmental body Climate Care, the EasyGreen tariff is available for both large and small companies that are looking to reach a set of environmental targets and become more environmentally-friendly in their practices.

E.ON's B2B director Peter Haigh said the tariff had been launched owing to an increase in environmental awareness over the past few years.

He added: "Many businesses now set environmental targets and so more and more companies now want to buy electricity that is generated in a more environmental-friendly manner.

"By providing renewable and offset energy, EasyGreen offers our business customers the chance to buy green electricity and so reduce their company's impact on the environment."

The launch of E.ON's new business tariff has come after the company announced plans to phase out the use of the Powergen brand on its customer communications by December 3rd.
