British businesses have pledged their support for plans to unite in order to reduce carbon emissions in the UK.
In the Confederation of British Industry's (CBI) new report, Climate Change: Everyone's Business, the body's member companies signed an agreement to develop new products to help households reduce their emissions by 50 per cent by 2020.
Businesses have also given their support to a scheme to save one million tonnes of carbon emissions at work and home within three years.
Commenting on the report, CBI director-general Richard Lambert said: "This report makes clear that in the future, businesses will have to be green to grow.
"To manage their costs and to maintain the trust of their customers, they will need to build carbon management into their corporate DNA."
The CBI is one of the UK's leading lobbying organisations, working with the government and international bodies to promote the interests of UK businesses across the globe.
