Opus Energy has announced that it has secured the entire output of renewable obligation certificates for two windfarms managed by Cornwall Light & Energy.
The independent business energy supplier's deal concerns the High Sharpley and Goonhilly windfarms and means that it will be providing its customers with an increased amount of energy from renewable sources.
In addition, the move also forms part of the provider's environmental commitment to secure cleaner energy sources and support the funding of such resources.
Charlie Crossley Cooke, Opus Energy's managing director, said: "By working in partnership with independent renewable energy providers, we are supporting the development of renewable generation.
"Our customers are able to benefit directly from our commitment to greener energy, without the need for multiple, often confusing tariffs."
Founded in 2002, Opus Energy supplies electricity to a number of businesses of all sizes across the UK, including well known names such as the Yell Group and Thorntons.
