Caravan enthusiasts in the UK have been warned that last year's flooding proves was a example as to why they need a good insurance policy.
Safeguard Insurance has stated that while no one is obliged to insure a caravan, the adverse weather last year was just one reason why people should consider taking out a policy.
The provider's Rita Sadler went on to explain that because it is not mandatory, many people do not consider the importance of having cover.
She said: "I work in insurance, but even if I didn't I wouldn't want to think that I'd spent a lot of money on a caravan and then it goes up in flames or it's stolen. And theft is one of the biggest problems."
Recent figures from the Caravan Club have found that caravanning is now the most popular paid-for holiday within the UK.
The same research claimed that almost a fifth of people in Britain take a caravan holiday.
