Yorkshire Building Society has unveiled a new range of mortgages with rates under six per cent.

The remortgage products feature terms of two, three, five and ten years, while they all include a maximum loan to value of 75 per cent and a fee of £995.

In addition, the ten-year product has a rate of 5.84 per cent, while the rest include rates of 5.74 per cent.

The lender has also launched deals with a 90 per cent loan to value for 0.40 per cent extra.

Tom Girling, Yorkshire Building Society's product manager, said the fall in swap prices this week allowed the company to introduce the mortgages.

"Not only are these best buy products, they also offer £500 cashback and a free valuation and legal service for re-mortgage customers," he added.

John Charcol.co.uk's Drew Wotherspoon recently claimed that tracker mortgages could prove to be best option for those who do not need the security of a fixed rate deal.
