The use of small wind turbines in the UK is set to grow in the next year, according to a new study.
Published by the British Wind Energy Association (BWEA), the report has claimed that the increase in the number of homes and businesses installing the renewable technology will be driven by technological improvements and energy savings.
The organisation has also stated that the growth would prove the UK's position as "a world leader in small systems technology".
Alex Murley, BWEA's small systems manager, said: "With large economic and export opportunities at stake, the UK is in an ideal position to support a strong manufacturing industry in a fast growing global sector, with the potential of delivering tens of thousands of UK based jobs."
Last month, the body called for the government to introduce measures for those who install the turbines to have quick access to grid connections.
Research released earlier this year claimed that currently legislation was slowing down the connection of a number of projects.
