ScottishPower is preparing to issue a new energy education pack to schools across Scotland.

The firm, one of the leading energy suppliers in the UK, has designed the pack to help teachers and students to understand about renewable energy.

Created by ScottishPower Renewables, the pack contains two interactive DVDs detailing an insight into the industry and its practical uses in the world.

Keith Anderson, director of ScottishPower Renewables, said the firm though an education pack "would be of great benefit", with "extremely positive feedback" already received from schools.

He added: "The renewable energy industry is growing rapidly, and with the Scottish government aiming to generate 50 per cent of the country's electricity demand from renewables by 2020, this expansion is set to continue."

ScottishPower recently launched a new interactive website to explain how the average consumer can save up to £270 on their energy bills by using simple energy efficiency steps to reduce consumption.
