A renewable energy company in Wales has announced it has received a boost to its funding to provide solar power systems for schools and public sector buildings.
Dulas, based in Machynlleth, has been given £7 million from the Department of Energy and Climate Change (DECC) under its Low Carbon Buildings Programme.
The firm hopes to use the funding to help housing associations and the public sector to install solar systems on their building to help to lower their energy bills.
Over £22.7 million has already been handed out to over 1,200 projects by the DECC, with Dulas assisting on over a fifth of them to date.
Ian Draisey, director of Dulas, said: "This extra £7m is a timely boost for the team at Dulas.
"We recognise that the next six months will be crucial, and we are keen to make the most of this opportunity."
David Workman, director general of the British Manufacturers' Confederation, recently told the Financial Times that Ofgem needs to help protect small businesses from high energy prices.
