9 out 10 can save money!
A large number of Brits are unaware of how they can save money on their energy bills, according to two industry experts.
Jon McGowan, head of consumer marketing at the Energy Saving Trust (EST) , and Carmel McQuaid, climate change manager for Marks & Spencer, have said the people do not realise how to reduce their gas and electricity bills by 'going green'.
They added that people across the UK "want to be green" and save money through measures such as 'eco-driving', but are unaware of how to go about it due to a lack of information available.
Ms McQuaid said: "We found that from talking to our customers, they were saying that they want retailers like us to play a part in making it easier for them to understand what things they can do to be green, and how they can do it in a way that's easy but also makes a difference."
The EST estimates that the average household could save around £340 on their gas and electricity bills by being more energy efficient.
