The UK's only not-for-profit electricity and gas supplier has announced it is cutting its energy bills.
Ebico will reduce its electricity by nine per cent and slash the cost of gas for its customers by 2.5 per cent.
The company, which claims to be one of the 'little eight' independent energy suppliers, claims the reduction in prices is part of its effort to provide British households with fairly priced energy.
It states that the reduced costs will particularly benefit those in fuel poverty.
Phil Levermore, managing director of Ebico said: "We are pleased to announce that, unlike a number of the other supply companies, Ebico will be cutting the rates that apply to both our electricity and gas supplies."
He added that with both reductions taken into consideration the majority Ebico customers will save an average of 5.5 per cent or £65 a year.
Ebico, which was established in 1998, claims it puts its customers before profits.
