Cumbrian firm Sundog Energy has joined forces with Good Energy to promote the benefits of solar panels to residential energy customers.

The deal comes after Sundog installed three solar systems at Good Energy's office in Wiltshire.

Good Energy customers who install photovoltaic microgeneration equipment at their properties will receive ten pence for every kilowatt hour of energy they generate.

Households can sign up to the Home Generation scheme on Good Energy's website.

Managing director of Sundog Martin Cotterell said: "We are delighted to have forged a link with Good Energy which reflects the common environmental and ethical stances of the two companies."

He added that the goal the firms share was the commitment to tackling climate change by promoting the use of renewable energy.

At the end of last year, Good Energy received planning permission for its Delabole windfarm in north Cornwall.

The expansion of the site will increase its energy output by two-and-a-half times.
