Ebico to help reduce energy prices for those in fuel poverty

Not-for-profit energy firm Ebico has joined forces with Groundwork to help tackle fuel poverty in more than 1,000 of the UK's worst-off homes.
The pair is hoping to save 1,250 households £100,000 a year on their gas and electricity bills.
Part of the Green Doctor scheme, which is funded by the Ebico Trust, the programme will help fuel-poor homes in the south-east of England and those in south Wales.
Phil Levermore, co-founder and managing director of Ebico, said: "Ten years ago we set up Ebico because we could see that the so-called 'liberalisation' of the market would result in losers as well as winners, and the success of Ebico is living proof that there is market solution that works for everyone."
As part of the scheme, fully-trained energy saving professionals will visit homes in the regions and conduct energy use audits.
Ebico has a regional electricity tariff called EquiPower, which charges a flat rate irrespective of how customers pay.
