SmartEnergy has launched a new flexible electricity tariff aimed at businesses, which the company claims is the first of its kind in the country.
The company claims that firms which want a more environmentally friendly electricity supply no longer have to pay over the odds for it.
SmartEnergy specialises in buying its energy mix from a variety of suppliers, so customers can pick and choose exactly who they want to supply their electricity.
Jo Butlin, vice-president of retail for the firm, added that more flexibility in terms of how much green energy a business wants is a selling point for SmartEnergy's new tariff, which will be competing with schemes from Good Energy and Ecotricty.
Ecotricity claims to be the world's first green energy company.
Dale Vince, founder of the firm, said if the UK is to avoid the full impact of climate change it "needs to harness more of its natural wind energy and it needs to do it now".
