9 out 10 can save money!
Consumers should be comparing gas and electricity prices now in order to find the best deals and save themselves money, it has been claimed.
According to UK Energy Saving, an energy efficiency advice website, while retail gas and electricity prices are unlikely to rise in the short-term, waiting for another price drop – which may not materialise – could see people missing out on savings.
Hayley Jones, web marketing director for UK Energy Saving, said: "It can be difficult to know when to consider switching energy supplier, but there is no time like the present to start making savings.
"Particularly in these tense financial times, most people are looking for ways to tighten their belts and switching energy supplier is an easy way to do this."
Over the weekend, E.ON cut the cost of gas for its residential customers by 3.3 per cent – saving some 1.8 million people an estimated £25 per year.
