A family holiday could now be on the cards for those households which have saved money with cheap electricity bills.
The snowy winter weather may have pushed some people into looking for a cheap electricity and gas provider in order to try and reduce their energy bills and the toll they take on finances.
With the money saved by switching to cheap electricity, mums and dads could now have some spare cash to take their children on a break.
Family holidays are important in order to escape everyday stresses, managing director of Takethefamily.com Lucy Ace said.
And rather than opting for one, long summer break, some Britons are instead going on a number of shorter breaks or day trips.
"Tour operators and budget airlines are making it easier to book these different denominations, be it four to five days or ten to 11 days," she added.
A recent study commissioned by the Department for Work and Pensions found families feel a stronger bond when they do things outside of the home, such as holidays and day trips.
