England rugby fans using the money they have saved by switching to a cheap electricity tariff to travel to the World Cup in New Zealand next year should consider staying in Christchurch.

Tourism New Zealand has urged those who want to see the quarter-finals, semi-finals and the final itself to begin looking for accommodation as soon as possible.

And it highlighted Christchurch as a great place to base themselves, as its location means day trips can be planned relatively easily.

"What you'll see is a lot of people basing themselves in Christchurch for the match and then taking day trips and perhaps one or two overnight trips out," explained UK regional manager for Tourism New Zealand Gregg Anderson.

Fans of the sport who are struggling to find ways to save the money needed to follow their team next year might want to consider an electricity price comparison, as this would show them how much they could save by moving to a new supplier.
