Cheap dual fuel providers could prove to be of assistance for businesses worried about their 2010 finances in light of the general election result.
A new poll by Travelex Global Business Payments found 48 per cent of firms questioned believed a hung parliament would negatively impact upon their operations.
One worry is that without clear leadership and policies as to how the UK's debt deficit will be addressed, the value of sterling will take a turn for the worse.
Indeed, with the Conservatives currently in talks with the Liberal Democrats to decide if the two parties can join to form a majority, many companies are concerned about what this year holds, the survey found.
Switching to a dual fuel provider could, however, help firms take steps to cut back on their expenditure, making their operations as cost-efficient as possible.
Customer director at Travelex Global Business Payments Paddy Earnshaw stated: "Worryingly, a hung parliament may also affect their ability to obtain credit for their business."
Until it becomes clearer to businesses what the political outlook of the UK will be, companies may seek to make as many savings as possible, starting with their energy expenditure.

That’s how sure we are that we’ll make good on our promise.
