Music fans heading to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the Isle of Wight Festival could have some extra money to take with them by choosing a cheap electricity provider.

Those hoping to make the most of their time at the festival, which boasts Paul McCartney, Jay-Z and the Strokes as headliners, could benefit from a boost in spending money.

As well as watching well-known acts and discovering new bands, revellers will not have to miss any of England's World Cup matches between June 11th and 13th, as they will be screened in the BT Vision Field of Dreams area.

John Giddings, promoter for the Isle of Wight Festival, said: "Every year is an ideal year to attend the festival, [but] this year is our best line-up."

He also offered some advice to punters by saying: "Bring your wellies, sun lotion, drink lots of water and dance. This year our theme is beachwear."

The Isle of Wight festival began in 1970, when legendary guitarist Jimi Hendrix took the headline spot.
