A growing number of firms may be hoping to benefit from cheaper business energy bills by investing in energy efficiency.
The latest Energy Efficiency Indicator released by Johnson Controls shows 56 per cent of company leaders have invested the same or more in power-saving techniques over the last 12 months as they did in the previous year.
Energy efficiency in China is said to be rising at the fastest rate, with 60 per cent of people in the Asian country at least maintaining their investment level.
"These survey results indicate the growing importance on having energy efficient buildings that are cost effective and sustainable," notes Dave Myers, president of building efficiency at Johnson Controls.
This is something a rising number of businesses appear to be realising, with 92 per cent now claiming it is deemed a priority among decision makers.
Some may be following the recent advice from Emma Thompson, of E.ON, who said insulating walls is the primary way to achieve energy efficiency.
