Those who have switched energy suppliers and taken advantage of cheap gas and electricity rates may be in a position to enjoy their summer more than others this year.
One thing some people could splash out on is a trip to Denmark, which is hosting Roskilde, its answer to the Glastonbury Festival, next month.
Anne Sofie Salling Rasmussen, press and event coordinator at Visit Denmark, said the event is a lot of fun for all those who attend.
In particular, visitors come from Denmark itself as well as other Scandinavian countries such as Sweden and Norway.
Prince, Muse, Gorillaz and Patti Smith are among the stars due to headline the festival, which could be paid for with money saved on home energy bills.
The Association of Independent Festivals recently conducted a survey that suggested the music events are more resilient to the recession than others, as people continue to find the money from somewhere.
