Switching to a cheap electricity supplier may be one way families can save for a dream holiday to Jamaica.

The tourist board of the Caribbean island believes its popularity is set to increase throughout this year.

Moving on to a cheap electricity tariff may give people more disposable income to put towards seeing the country for themselves.

A spokesman for the Jamaica Tourist Board explained the number of visitors from the UK has been rising recently, partly due to the current favourable exchange rate, which offers "great value for money".

"Along with its infamous beaches the island offers a fantastic variety of adventure activities, unique cultural experiences and natural attractions, ensuring there really is something for everyone," the representative added.

Alternatively, homeowners who switch energy providers could use the money they save to book a trip to Morocco.

Sarah Baxter of Wanderlust magazine described the country as an exotic destination that is a relatively short distance away from the UK.
