Brewing company Greene King is to take a lead when it comes to reducing business energy consumption.
The alcohol producer, based in East Anglia, has joined forces with the Carbon Trust in a bid to show how power can be saved.
Its boss, Justin Adams, has already launched a campaign to encourage business bosses to complete a survey that will potentially save them millions of pounds each year.
Mr Adams says: "It makes good sense to be smarter about the use of energy. It cut[s] costs, improves efficiency and enhances reputation with customers at the same as benefiting the environment."
Some of the ways firms in the region may attempt to lower their business energy use and save cash on their power bills is to install insulation in their premises.
The Kansas City Star recently reported on one resident in its region, Jennifer Mays, who had added insulation to her walls and enjoyed a significant saving on energy bills.
