A switch of energy supplier may be considered by some to be an obvious way to reduce business energy bills.
But some firms may wish to follow the advice of one expert, who suggests floor insulation help to significantly cut consumption of gas and electricity.
Sarah Lonsdale, writing for the Daily Telegraph, says a high number of buildings lose "a lot" of heat through their floors.
Ms Lonsdale puts forward several potential solutions to the problem of energy escaping through the ground, some of which could be acted upon to induce cheap gas and cheap electricity bills.
She says lino and cork - both of which are natural insulators - are "good for using" and have "come a long way" in terms of design.
Foam insulation and caulking are other methods to be considered by those who wish to reduce their bills.
Paul Fallman of Lake County, Florida, told the Seattle Times this week designing his home to face the sun has helped him save money on energy bills.
