Firms looking to save money on their business energy bills have been offered some tips on how to reduce the amount of power their air conditioning system uses.

The Akron Beacon Journal notes one of the most common causes of inefficiency with air conditioning is by running it and opening the windows, ensuring the cooler waves seep out.

It also advises leaving the unit running all night, as when it is turned off other electrical appliances are forced to work especially hard to remove heat from a building.

The news source goes on to recommend changing the filter in an air conditioning system regularly, in a bid to maximise its potential.

Some businesses may find following the instructions, as well as choosing to switch energy supplier in order to take advantage of cheaper rates, may be good for their bottom line.

Research conducted for the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs by Ipsos MORI recently suggested many companies need to do more if they are to enjoy reasonable business energy bills as climate change kicks in.
