A switch of energy supplier could well help homeowners save money on their fuel bills this autumn, with extra cash perhaps best spent on days out in London.

With the colder months approaching once more, property dwellers will know only too well this means more heating and lighting will soon be required, pushing up monthly invoices.

But once the savings start rolling in, splashing out on day trips with friends and family may become a realistic option.

London is a great choice for these, according to Emma O'Boyle, spokeswoman for TripAdvisor.

She says the capital has a host of interesting and beautiful attractions that can be enjoyed for very little cost, such as parks and museums.

"Travellers should remember that a trip to London doesn't need to be expensive. London has so much to offer travellers on a budget," Ms O'Boyle notes.

Trivago recently suggested the cost of staying in London is coming down, with the price of a night in the city dropping by ten per cent over the last month.
