Medium and large-sized firms may find switching to a deal with a cheap dual fuel supplier helps them to save money on their business energy bills.

Indeed, it could even form part of the sustainability strategy that is now vital when running an organisation of such magnitude, in the opinion of one expert.

Paul Anderson, programme director for infrastructure outsourcing at Capgemini, says an energy-efficient plan can make all the difference.

"In regards to business, for elements of sustainability and greening there can be massive savings and it will bring down the scale of their overall carbon footprint," he suggests.

The introduction of a cheap dual fuel supplier is another factor that might be able to play a part in driving costs down.

Some firms may wish to follow the example of the Environment Agency, which computing.co.uk recently reported is set to adopt the world's greenest data centre in the coming months.
