Scotland is a good location for companies looking to lower their business energy costs.
That is the opinion of environmental justice campaigner Friends of the Earth Scotland, which has claimed that the country's "massive renewable energy prospects" make it a hub for greener working.
Duncan McLaren, the organisation's chief executive, explained: "With 25 per cent of all of Europe's potential for wind power, [Scotland is] a natural location for new green energy businesses and jobs."
However, he added that the government must not focus on renewable energy alone, explaining that improving buildings in Scotland is an equally successful way to reduce energy waste.
This comes after the first minister of Scotland Alex Salmond recently claimed at the Aberdeen Asset Management's Conference that investment in the renewable energy sector could result in the creation of some 60,000 green jobs in the country.
He said business leaders must understand the "challenges and opportunities" brought about by climate change.
