Sourcing a deal with a cheap dual fuel provider may be an effective way of driving down monthly bills and freeing up cash to be spent in other areas.
An example of this is splashing out on a new mobile phone, such as one of the three trendy smartphones due to be released by Nokia.
The Finnish brand has confirmed it is to launch the E7, C6 and C7 models, with each offering a different set of specifications tailored to various lifestyles.
For example, the Nokia E7 is described by the manufacturer as the "ultimate business smartphone" and even offers a corporate email inbox.
Meanwhile, the C7 places emphasis upon social networking, offering instant and reliable access to sites such as Facebook.
But for families or individuals on a budget, finding a cheap dual fuel supplier to save money in other areas may be the only way of affording a brand new Nokia handset.
Nokia is also due to release the long-awaited N8 at the end of this month.
