Firms that implement measures to save power and reduce their business energy bills may have more cash to remain ambitious and forward thinking.
One way companies can show their progressive nature is by protecting and investing in information technology (IT) at this time, despite the uncertain economic climate.
Andy Doyle, account management and sales manager at BCS, says spending money on people and their skills is a wise move.
While the expert admits cutting costs is a priority for many organisations, this can be achieved in areas other than personnel - such as, for example, business energy.
Commenting on the hiring of new staff, Mr Doyle states: "That's investment that shouldn't be overlooked over and above hardware and software and other assets."
Firms that attended the recent 360°IT event at Earls Court in London may have realised what money saved on fuel could be spent on, including professionals that help them reach their goals and objectives.
