New research has shown that wholesale energy prices have fallen during the last couple of months, prompting calls for energy bills to be cut, according to an article published by the Telegraph.
The research has suggested that household energy bills should be reduced by around £135 to reflect the fall in wholesale energy prices.
A typical dual fuel bill for an average household in the United Kingdom totalled nearly £1,200, due to the increases implemented by many energy firms last year - which were attributed to rising wholesale prices.
A spokesman from E.On revealed: "We have no current plans to change our prices but continue to monitor the wholesale market. The unfortunate reality is that, over the longer term, global wholesale energy prices are expected to rise."
Whilst financial support is available to many - as set to be highlighted by the upcoming Big Energy Week - a reduction in energy prices could benefit many across the United Kingdom.
