In a bid to help it generate a greater amount of its own renewable electricity, Good Energy has revealed that it is actively planning to build around 110MW worth of renewable energy generators in the United Kingdom.

One of the UK's main green energy suppliers, it stated that it was investigating a number of onshore wind and larger-scale solar projects around the UK.

Commenting on the Good Energy's plans, its founder and CEO, Juliet Davenport, stated: "We are planning to build 110MW of renewable electricity generation capacity in the next five years - enough to power all the homes in a town about the size of Reading.

"We're currently in the process of investigating the potential of a range of onshore wind and large-scale solar projects around the UK to generate this clean, green power," he added.

Good Energy previously announced that it was implementing a five per cent price cut on its gas prices for dual-fuel customers.
