Insurance provider advises consumers over storms

Insurance provider Lloyd TSB has released some advice for consumers who have been affected by the storms sweeping the UK.

The company stated that it experienced a 150 per cent increase in new claims registered on Monday morning, with customer calls up by over 50 per cent.

Advising those affected by the weather, Lloyds TSB stated that those making a claim should prepare by checking what their policy covers and also contact their insurer as quickly as possible.

Phil Loney, the provider's managing director, added that the company was expecting calls "to continue at this level for the next 48 hours".

He added: "So far all claims have been storm-related but, with today's Spring tides, we're prepared for flood claims to come through as well, this afternoon."

esure also recently echoed the comments from Lloyds TSB and advised homeowners to keep important documents concerning their cover safe and away from areas which could be affected by flooding.
