Households thinking of making a switch of energy supplier have been advised of a number of other ways they can reduce the amount of fuel they use each month.

Blast suggests thinking of the environment can be good not only for the ecosystem but also for the bottom line on invoices from dual fuel providers.

It starts by recommending the addition of a visual gauge in homes that is designed to show how much energy has been used in a particular period.

The online publication believes it would be great if individuals could track a precise amount of power so no bill would come as a shock.

And it moves on to note the introduction of more rechargeable and wireless devices can only be good news for those paying the electricity and gas charges.

Laurie Eve, director at Source Renewable, recently backed the feed-in tariffs scheme to deliver savings for homeowners in the UK.
