Mayor Mike Seferian recently told a council meeting his aim is to tackle rising heating, lighting and cooling costs in administrative properties.
"My goal is to see if we can upgrade our physical plant to save money for the taxpayers, make the building more comfortable and actually spend no money," he is quoted as saying.
Some firms and organisations may like to take the advice of James Strawbridge, eco-campaigner, TV presenter and author, who this week suggested windows can hold the key to lowering invoices.
He identified old and poor frames as being one area within a home or business premises that can allow warmth and energy to escape.
