Green Energy Plug

Green energy supplier Good Energy has unveiled a new smart phone app designed to allow customers to easily claim incentive payments on the energy they generate from solar panels fitted to their homes.

The app will initially launch on a trial basis and will support the supplier's HomeGen scheme. This scheme allows customers with domestic systems with a generation capacity less than 4kW to receive payment for the energy they generate..

With the new app, it's thought that the process of submitting meter readings will be less time-consuming. The instantaneous feedback provided by the app will allow customers to see whether their readings have been validated, which will also make it easier for them to ensure if and when they've been paid for their energy generation.

Available for devices running Android and IOS operating systems, it'll replace the set of online forms currently used by Good Energy's HomeGen customers and has been developed by smart technology specialist PassivSystems.

Commenting on the app, the green energy supplier's chief executive and founder, Julie Davenport OBE, stated: "Our goal is to be a catalyst for change in the UK energy market by empowering our customers. Ensuring that we continue to provide the best possible service to those customers is a key part of achieving that aim.

"Working with technology innovators such as PassivSystems helps us to ensure that the services we deliver to our customers remain the best in the world," she added.
