The time to switch is now, with potential savings at an all-time high. The competition to provide the best energy deals is fierce, with more and more suppliers offering cheaper tariffs – both fixed and variable - leading to some of the largest savings figures ever. A recent study has revealed that  savings made by energy consumers who switch their suppliers is at its highest point in five years.

  • £292 has been saved on average for each consumer this year – more than any point since 2010.
  • 10% of customers who switched have saved more than £512 in the first half of 2015, compared to the £412 savings from last year.

All of the current top 10 energy deals are priced at less than £950 per year, whereas last year only two energy deals were offering this rate.

The best deal for a variable tariff is currently GB Energy Supply at £869 per year*. Click to find out variable tariff for more details.

The best deal for a fixed rate is currently First Utility at £913 per year*. See more about fixed rate tariffs.

UKPower’s energy expert Scott Byrom states: “These are actual savings customers are making on their home energy bills day in and day out and should act as a call to arms for those who don’t actively switch their energy tariff/supplier each year.

“We have to respond to this and put money back into the consumers’ pockets rather than funding energy suppliers profits purely due to apathy. We should all ask ourselves whether we are on the best tariff and whether we could save money. The data clearly demonstrates the majority of us are paying more than we need to for our home energy so we have to change that.”
