Wind Farms may be the latest development to assist with cheap electricity, and an onshore wind farm in Scotland has started producing energy for the national grid.

The South Lanarkshire facility is expected to be completed next year and its first turbine is already operational.

Colin Hood is chief operating officer at the development and commented: "Clyde is an important project for the development of renewable energy targets and first generation of electricity from the wind farm is a key milestone."

It is predicted that other energy companies will follow suit and look into wind farms as a sustainable source of energy for the future.
