Expert: How to make big savings on payments to dual fuel providers
Dual fuel providers are typically asking for even more cash these days, as energy bills across the UK soar.
But one expert – Conor Pope, writing for the Irish Times – believes he has the solution to the financial headache that is increasing invoices.
He suggests investing in insulation and other eco-friendly technology can pay off in the long run.
Saving fuel is now the key to reducing bills, with a switch of energy supplier perhaps one of the few other options.
"Making energy-efficient home improvements makes sense. Someone with an average four-bedroom house, built in the early 1970s and with high energy bills, could reduce their total energy costs by 40 per cent," Mr Pope explains.
The importance of being able to afford adequate heating and lighting in the home was arguably illustrated last week.
According to the UK Public Health Association, about 30,000 people die each year because of a lack of warmth.
