A cloud could be lifted from over the UK's solar energy industry as the Government seeks to salvage large-scale solar projects.
The Coalition government originally flung the solar industry into darkness when it announced huge cuts to subsidies for large-scale solar projects in favour of subsidising smaller domestic schemes.
Now, according to the Daily Mail, ministers are planning to change the policy so it no longer limits the scheme to small projects.
Solar industry leaders had said the Government could effectively kill the industry if it pushed ahead with plans.
The Mail claims the Government is now looking at new ways to encourage energy suppliers to buy more solar-generated energy.
The large-scale solar projects could now be included in the Renewable Obligation project, another environmental subsidy scheme, to prevent their funding being cut.
The Government is expected to announce how it intends to provide subsidies for large solar projects in the autumn.
