The customers of Britain's leading dual fuel providers are set to benefit from the implementation of the government's Green Deal, in the opinion of one expert.
Audrey Gallacher, head of energy at Consumer Focus, says the fact the project will see tips and suggestions tailored for individual households is good news.
She notes every house is different, so treating them as such is a wise move by the government.
However, she suggests it is perhaps not the best idea to share data from UK homes unless it can help drive down the cost of power bills.
"We must also make sure that the benefits of the Green Deal are accessible to all, especially people on low incomes who are often hardest to reach yet have most to gain," states Ms Gallacher.
Greg Barker, minister for climate change, recently described the emergence of the Green Deal as something that could trigger a "national movement" towards improved efficiency in British properties.
