People struggling to maintain their payments to dual fuel providers this winter have been offered help and advice by an expert organisation.
Citizens Advice has reminded consumers its Energy Best Deal project is alive and kicking as the cold weather continues, in some cases pushing energy bills up.
Sarah Harrison, Ofgem's Senior Partner for Sustainable Development, says the campaign seeks to provide people with all the options – such as a switch of energy supplier – when it comes to dealing with rising prices.
"It is important that consumers will continue to receive this information face-to-face from a trusted source this winter," she states.
According to an independent evaluation carried out last year, 98 per cent of those who used Energy Best Deal found it to be of some use in tackling their bill concerns.
Bankrate.com last week suggested adding insulation to a property is the first thing people must do to reduce the amount of power their household consumes.
