Households worried about energy price hikes and rising bills should be aware there are ways to reduce the amount they are charged each month by dual fuel providers.
An article on Industry Today explains there are several steps that can be taken to cut down on consumption of power and subsequently slash invoices.
It recommends introducing timers to regulate the periods during which a heating system is in action.
This ensures radiators and other warming devices are not asked to work when they should not be, thus reducing waste.
And the online publication goes on to urge people to "insulate, insulate, insulate", as this is a way of saving energy that "cannot be underestimated".
It says both wall cavity and loft insulation are crucial if individuals are to prevent heat from leaking out of a home.
The Daily Mail recently suggested a switch of energy supplier as another way to save cash, noting this can reduce outgoings by up to £277 a year.
