Are there any costs for this service?
We do not make any charge to the customer for using this service. We are funded through commission payments made to us by suppliers every time we introduce a new customer to them.
How often are the prices updated?
Energy contract prices are updated as soon as we are notified by the supplier. Some suppliers give us prices which can remain unchanged for as much as 3 months, while other suppliers give us daily price changes. As soon as we receive these prices, they are updated on the site so that you can be confident that the prices shown are the ones that you will be charged by your supplier.
Who is my contract with?
Your contract for your energy is between you and the supplier. UK Business Power provides you with a tool to search for energy contracts and to handle the start of the contract process.
Who currently supplies my energy?
In the first instance, try to find a recent bill or speak to the previous occupier. If you still do not know who supplies your property; for gas call Exoserve on 0845 601 3049 (business users only), for electricity please see the table below.
How long does it take to switch suppliers?
Switching suppliers takes on average 4 to 6 weeks. However, various things can change this, for example if you are still in contract with another supplier, or if the new supplier does not have all information that they require to complete the switch.
My business is relocating, what do I need to do?
In the first instance, find out who currently supplies your new property and change the account to your business. Once you have moved in, come back to us and you can search our contract database for a contract to suit you.
My MPAN (electricity meter number) is not recognised. Why is this?
MPAN numbers displayed on your bill are not always accurate. If this is the case, please contact the distributor MPAS service for your region who will be able to confirm your accurate MPAN number:
